Claude D. Caldwell, Ph.D. - President/CEO

Claude has been working in Agriculture in Canada since 1980 when he started with Agriculture AgriFood Canada  in Lacombe Alberta. He has spent the past 25 years as a researcher, teacher and extension specialist in Canada specializing in cereals and oilseeds. Originally trained in the United Kingdom as a biophysicist and crop physiologist, Claude has worked extensively in a variety of cropping systems, development of new agricultural technologies, new crop development, agricultural ecosystems and has been actively involved in germplasm development for almost 30 years.

Dr. Caldwell has supervised many graduate students in varied aspects of plant culture and management and international cropping systems. His present research focuses on new oilseed product development, cereals and Christmas Trees! His international experience involves work in China, Vietnam, The Philippines, Indonesia, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, The Gambia, Cambodia and Ethiopia. Dr. Caldwell brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for new ventures to the company. 

 

Treasa Pauley, M.Sc. - VP Operations

Treasa has been a professional within the Canadian AgriFood industry for almost 10 years. Her formal training includes a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Master of Science in Plant Physiology. Treasa started her career in agriculture as the Horticulture Specialist for Northern Nova Scotia. During this time she also acquired training in development of HACCP programs, group facilitation, and sales.

Treasa has extensive expertise at the post harvest and processor level. She has worked on almost all levels of the value chain from primary production to the development of marketing strategies for processed products including the development of new product lines and packaging. Treasa is trained and has years of experience in the development and maintenance of food safety programs both on-farm and at HACCP approved processing facilities.

Treasa thrives on the exchange of knowledge amoung industry stakeholders for the benefit of all. Let her share her expertise with you!

Michael Pauley, B.Sc., AIT, MCP - CTO

Mike received his honours degree from the Nova Scotia Agriculture College which allowed him to persue post-graduate education in IT. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional. Thanks to his techno-saavy father, Mike got his first computer in the early 1980's before the age of six, germinating his interest in all things computer related. He was regularly online connecting to local bulletin boards with his Apple ][c, well before "online" was a household term and his skill grew from there.

With over twenty years of professional technology experience in the agriculture, law, dentistry and insurance industries, he can answer your questions ranging from simple software requirements and IT security concerns to website development to enterprise level servers and applications. If you have an IT related question or concern, chances are Mike can help.
 

Richard Jacobs, B.Sc.

Richard Jacobs was born into a family with a rich tradition in farming, dating back to the arrival of the Planters in the 18th Century.  His passion for farming led him to his studies at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree with a focus on Animal Science and a minor in Business.  His employment experience in the field of Agriculture spans over 10 years ranging from weeding onions as a teenager to management of large cereal, oilseed and forage acreages for one of the Maritime's largest almost entirely self-sufficient dairy/poultry operations. Richard has extensive knowledge in both Dairy and Poultry production, assisting in the management of a 100+ dairy herd and 120,000 flock of broiler/layer hens. His hands-on work experience extends to milking, calving, artificial insemination, feed/nutrition management, medical treatment assistance, barn maintenance and general farming practices.  His cropping experience ranges from equipment maintenance to seeding, fertilization, spraying and harvesting.  Over the last 3 years his focus has been the implementation of a complete No-till and minimum tillage system- practices which greatly enhance soil management and soil conservation/health.
